Welcome to the Spring Term!
Space
The children have thoroughly enjoyed our theme this week, 'All about Space'. We learnt a song to remember the planets in order of closeness to the sun. We used different materials such as paint, shaving foam and shaving gel to create planets. Children looked at the role of an astronaut how rockets go into space. To help with our phonics, children have been writing words in our glitter space tray. There have been so many other things we've been getting up so take a look!
Chinese New Year
Children have been super this week celebrating Chinese New Year. We started the week listening to the story, 'The Magic Paintbrush' which they really enjoyed! We also learnt about the 'The Great Race' where the rat won the race. We used our fine motor skills using chopsticks to pick up pom poms focusing on the amounts 6, 7 and 8. In our Construction Area, children retold the story of the animals again using the objects and in our Creative Area, we make Chinese lanterns. In our topic area, we used different non-fiction books to find out more information about China. It has been a busy week!
