Attendance
The attendance of children and young people in school is a priority.
Please can we ask that families do not request leave of absence from school for children, unless it is absolutely necessary and there is no reasonable alternative.
Routine dental appointments, holidays, or travel to and from destinations to visit family are not classed as exceptional leave of absence. Such absences are classed as unauthorised, and they may be subject to a fine.
The whole school, annual target for each child is set at 97%. Any absence figure below this is monitored within school, with attendance at 90% or below classed within the Persistent Absentee category and is a cause for concern.
The table below gives an overview of what the attendance % figure looks like over a year.
