Religious Education
Our Religious Education curriculum is designed to deepen pupils’ understanding of religions and worldviews, exploring both their shared values and unique differences. It aims to foster a sense of belonging by helping pupils discover their own place, identity, and journey through life.
We follow the Leeds Agreed RE Syllabus, Believing and Belonging when delivering the RE curriculum.
Our curriculum is built on the following key aims:
- Develop a broad and balanced understanding of religions and worldviews.
- Empower pupils with critical thinking skills to engage thoughtfully with complex ideas.
- Broaden perspectives on faiths and cultures, promoting respect and tolerance for diversity.
- Support pupils in shaping their own worldview, identity, values, and sense of spirituality.
- Prepare pupils to become positive, active citizens who contribute meaningfully to the world.
* Parents and carers can choose to withdraw their child from religious education (RE) lessons. Please contact the school office for further details on how to do this.
