World War II veterans, Mr Richardson and Mrs Hollins, visited Year 6 and told us of their experiences during the war.

World War 2 homework
Some examples of the amazing homework produced by year 6 on the theme of WW2. We had lots of lovely baking too but we have eaten it all!
Red Cross Visit - Many thanks to Abby from the Red Cross whose talk left the class with much to think about.
Martin Riley working with year 6, drama based on the theme of World War 2.
This week in science we revised the characteristics of vertebrates, then looked at the platypus - a most unusual mammal. We created our own unusual creatures, making sure they had the required characteristics.
In our second lesson, we looked at invertebrates and classified them.
This half term's science topic is all about animals and their habitats. We have started to learn about classification, sorting a group of objects commonly found in the classroom and moving on to a group of animals (we found this quite a challenge).
Classifying - science - animals and their habitats
MOD Pizza and a trip to see 'Wonder' at the Vue cinema was a perfect end to a busy half term. Pizza creating and taste testing were great fun, although no one seemed really keen on sprouts on their pizza. 'Wonder' was a super film, but we can't all decide if it is better than the book or not.
Year 6 put their scientific knowledge and design technology skills together to create a burglar alarm for a house. It was wonderful to see them working so well together and their houses, fully burglar proofed, were individual and inventive in design!
Year 6 dancing away during anti-bullying week!
What an amazing day we had at 'The Colour Experience' in Bradford.
Year 6 learnt a lot and honed their batting and fielding skills during the 'Cricket in the classroom' day in Headingley.
