Safeguarding
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Adel Primary School.
We believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and work hard to maintain a strong culture of vigilance. All staff receive formal training through Leeds Local Authority as well as regular in-house updates, ensuring that the safety and wellbeing of our children remains our highest priority.
Our pupils learn how to keep themselves safe through our core values and a carefully designed Personal Development Curriculum. This helps them understand practical strategies for staying safe and the risks they may encounter in today’s world.
Alongside our curriculum, we highlight key safeguarding themes through special events such as Anti-Bullying Week, Safer Internet Day, and the NSPCC’s Speak Out, Stay Safe programme.
By revisiting these topics regularly, we equip our children with the knowledge and confidence to make safe choices throughout their time at Adel Primary and beyond.
